A Very Rare Ming Doucai Dragon Bowl, Ming Dynasty, Longqing and Period (1567-1572)

Well-proportioned and finely potted bowl with a wide and deep well, decorated with green and red dragons chasing after a flaming pearl at the exterior. The interior is decorated with sinuous dragon above waves within a two-line circle.

Longqing is very rare because of the fact that he was only at the throne for six years, the amount of porcelain produced during his reign were very limited, not to mention this very fine and elegantly potted bowl. The base has six-character in blue under glazed within a double-line circle. H. 7.5 cm, Diameter 16 cm.
