Pale blue/green glazed Song Dynasty Ceramic Wine Warmer with carved Qing Qianlong poems around the fluted lotus shaped petals. The pattern extends downwards in a lotus shape towards the base with a fluted foot rim and glazed base.
Often these bowls are accompanied with a pouring vessel which is placed into the bowl to keep the contents of the vessel warm. The body of the ceramic is thickly potted and is quite heavy. Qing Emperor Qianlong was known to be enthralled by simplicity and seductive beauty of Song ru style porcelains that he often ordered his imperial craftsman to carve his poem on such artefacts.
