Thinly potted, deep bowl with gently sloping sides rising from a short straight foot to an unglazed rim (was previously coated with silver), moulded to the interior with two phoenix in flight amongst lotus, below a thin band of key fret pattern. The centre of medallion is a stylized moulded peony trees or bushes, very popular ceramic motif during the Song dynasty.
