A Rare Copper Red Blue White Under Glaze Teapot, Ming Xuande and Period (1427-1437)

Elegantly potted copper red, blue white under glaze teapot with a bamboo-shaped handle. The Bell-shaped body is decorated with four finely painted suspending ruyi in blue glaze containing a lotus flower and leafs, above a band of bananas motif, with similar pattern of lotus and leafs decorated spout and cap. Six character Xuande Mark on handle. Base is unglazed revealing stoneware with burnt brownish red patches and ferrite spots. H. 11 cm. Dia. 18 cm.
