A Famille-Rose '5 Dragon' Bottle Vase, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong and Period (1735 - 1796)

Well potted with a globular body supported on a flat base, sweeping up to a waisted neck and straight rim, deftly decorated around the exterior with five five-clawed dragon in red, blue, green, purple and dark green colour within a flaming medallion each, all among light blue coloured clouds and above castellated lappets.

The shoulder is surrounded by ‘ruyi ; lappets, with 'Eight Buddhist Emblems' above, the neck is richly decorated with petal motif and yellow sunflower above it, below the white glazed rim is encircled by light blue ‘ruyi’ lappets, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character reign mark. 32 cm High.
